President’s Letter January 2008 Happy New Year wishes to all. We ended our Kaligrafos year with the successful fundraiser, “Rock, Paper, Scissors”. We are grateful to those who generously donated treasures and time, and to those who eagerly shopped for those treasures and joined the fun. Eve Campbell and Sherry Barber did an exceptional job. The lucky raffle ticket belonged to Terry Porter and she went home with the Sheila Waters’ Rondel. Did you find a spot to hang it, Terry? We have much to look forward to in the months ahead. For the January meeting Christie Campo will present a program on Design & Layout, a topic of interest to all. The Southwest Calligraphers Conference will be held in Fort Worth at the end of the month and we’ll be sharing ideas with other guilds in the region. February means Valentines and this year Sherry Barber has graciously offered her home as the site for our annual social. The deadline for our dessert cookbook, “Sweet Scribbles”, is fast approaching so please contribute recipes, quotes, art, etc. to Paula Van Wagoner. While we are just revving up for 2008 we are also beginning to look toward nominations and elections for the new board in April. Please be open to becoming more involved in Kaligrafos and consider what you’d like to do for the guild – each of you has something unique to offer and there is so much to be enjoyed by participating. The camaraderie and sharing can’t be beat!
