Presidents LetterMay 2008 April was a busy month for Kaligrafos. Elections for 2008-2009 officers took place at the April meeting and as a result I will have the opportunity to serve Kaligrafos as President for a second term, as will Donna Sabolovic as Vice President. Louise Weber will remain on the executive board but with a new hat (or two). She will follow up Sherry Barber as Treasurer and we welcome Eve Campbell as Secretary. I feel blessed to again be surrounded by such an able team. The committee chairs, too, will be cycling in and out at the end of May. I am most grateful to the wonderful outgoing board for all their dedication to Kaligrafos and hard work to nurture our guild. Thank you to each and every one for your support. We will welcome a new board in May and here is the line-up: Exhibits: Donna Sabolovic Historian: Catherine Burkhard Library: Margaret Mall Membership: Jeri Wright Newsletter: Randy Stewart Parliamentary: Eve Campbell Programs: Sherry Barber Projects: Betty Barna Webmaster: Marie Adamson Workshops: Linda Jones South West Calligraphy Conference Special Committee: Louise Weber These committee chairmen will need a lot of worker bees to accomplish their jobs so please give some thought and let them know if you have a specific interest. Working with others provides a great opportunity to feel a part of our guild. If you missed our April meeting you missed a wonderful program! Margaret Mall and her team (Paul Siegel, Barbara Hunt, Sharon Schmidt, Marilee Haughey, Debra Worden and Jane Faulkner) presented a delightful and informative program on many aspects of paper. Their program was truely a model of teamwork. We all had a lot of fun, learned a lot and went home with stacks of samples…everybody does love samples!!.
