Article VII - Duties of Elected Officers |

Section 1: The President shall: - Preside at all meetings of the Society and its Board
- Be an ex-officio member of all committees except the Nominating Committee
- Appoint Standing Committee chairmen with the assistance and approval of the Executive Board
- Authorize expenses submitted in accordance with the approved budget, and sign checks in the absence of the Treasurer
- Represent the Socity to other calligraphic organizations and maintain communications as necessary with same
- Promote the program and purpose of the Society
- Submit a report at the Annual Meeting
- Call meetings of the elected Officers, if needed for emergency decisions as outlined in Article IX
- Be familiar with all committees concerning their personnel, responsibilities and progress on current projects
- Keep notes and operational material pertinent to the responsibilities of this office
- Perform whatever additional duties the Society prescribes.
Section 2: The Vice President shall: - Assist the President in promoting the program and purpose of the Society
- Assist the President as requested with the meetings of the Society and its Board
- Be the official greeter of tmembers and guests at the regular meetings of the Society, assisting them as necessary (See Article VIII, Section D11)
- Perform the duties of the President in the latter's absence, inability to serve, or by request
- Be Chairman of the Bylaws Committee, making certain the Bylaws and Standing Rules are current and maintaing a current copy of same
- Submit a report for the annual Meeting
- Keep notes and operational material pertinent to the responsibilities of this office
- Perform whatever additional duties the Society prescribes
Section 3: The Secretary shall: - Keep accurate minutes of all meetings of the Socity and its Board
- Mail a copy of the minutes to the President within (15) days after each meeting
- Keep an accurate list of Officers, Standing Committee Chairment, and Special Comittee Charment with current addresses and telephone numbers
- Provide the Vice President with any motions or changes that should be included in the Bylaws and Standing Rules
- Send to the Newsletter Editor a brief summary of all meetings of the Socity and its Board on matters for publication to the membership, observing the deadline set
- Conduct such correspondence for the Socity as may be necessary
- Mail noties to the membership as directed
- Submit a report of the Annual Meeting
- Keep notes and operational material pertinent to the responsibilities oof this office
- Perform whatever additional duties the Society prescribes
Section 4: The Treasurer shall: - Keep an accurate and current accounting of all receipts and expenses
- Deposit all monies collected in the Society's account
- See that the bank approved by the Executive Board has current cards for the signatures of the elected Officers for the Society's account. In the abasnece of the Treasurer and in an emergency, one of the other elected officers shall be authorized to sign checks (see Section 1E)
- Make all authorized expenditures
- Submit monthly reports to the Society and Board; and a report at the Annual Meeting
- Submit the books and records to the Audit Committee immediately following the closeof the fiscal year, and in time for the audit Committee's report to be presented at the may regular meeting
- Submit a preliminary budget tot he Executive Board by May 31, which in turn shall be presented to the Society (See Article X - Finances)
- Keep records as to the status of income and expenes in relation to the approved budget, providing a full report at each board meeting and posting a report at each meeting
- Keep notes and operational material pertinent to the responsibilities of this office
- Perform whatever additional duties the Society prescribes.
