Section 1:  There shall be no limit to the number of members of the Society, and membership shall be open to all individuals interested in supporting the purpose of the Society.

Section 2:  The amount of the annual dues shall be recommended by the Executive Board, but shall be open to all individuals interested in supporting the purpose of the Society.

Section 3:  Members of the Society are persons who have paid annual dues and support the purpose of the Society.  Only these members are elibible to vote or hold office.  each member should feel an obligation to serve on a committee or in some other capacity for the Society. 

Section 4:  Upon the signed recommendation of five (5) members that is approved by the Executive Board, the Society may confer an honorary membership status upon an individual who has rendered notable service to the Society and/or who has attained outstanding recognition in calligraphy or related field.  The Honorary Membership shall be the status of the member for the duration of membership in the Society.  The Honorary Member may choose upon conferrence, to be either an "Honorary Active Member" or an "Honorary Associate Member".  An Honorary Active Member shall have all the obligations of membership as noted in these Bylaws (Section 3, this Article).  An Honorary Associate Member shall have none of the obligations of membership and shall be entitled to all of the provileges except those of making motions, voting, and holding office.

Section 5:  All meetings and functions of the Society shall be open to the public.  When fees are involved, non-members may be assessed a higher amount than members.
