Newbie Educational Days

We have three introductory workshops set up this year to introduce new members to new hands. While aimed at new members, anyone who is interested in learning a new hand, refreshing an old hand, or just wants to get to hang out with other members is welcome.

These workshops are free for members with up to a $5.00 supply fee, if applicable,

and cost only $15.00 for 3 hours plus the supply fee for non-members.

If you decide to join after the workshop, the cost of the workshop ($15) can be applied to the membership dues of $25.00 making these workshops a fabulous bargain.

This year we are trying a new format. Members will offer a 3 hour class in their home. If there is interest beyond space available, we will either draw randomly from those signed up or offer a second session if possible. Take advantage of those close to your location or travel if the subject is just what you need.

DESIGN WITH GEORGA DEAVER

After an introduction to design, we had directed free play to develop potential backgrounds. ~ Georgia led us to use crop corners to find a suitable orientation and crop.

Georgia gave us a working exercise to come up with a book jacket design. The exercises could have gone on for another semester. The time flew by as we were engrossed in the projects. Everyone came away with an increase in their tool box to design the art to come. Look for it.
